This web site is dedicated to those in Grand Prairie, Texas, and the surrounding area, that served their country during the Vietnam era. Most of the members in this chapter were either 'on the ground' in Vietnam or offshore on their ships, submarines, and aircraft carriers providing cover and support for the ground troops directly in harm's way 'in country'.
This group exists to serve the community, to keep the community aware of the service that these men provided their country, and particularly to aid and support each other as we continue to live out the Vietnam experience.
Chapter 1013 Memorial Day Flag Pole Dedication
The city of Grand Prairie offers a select number of flag poles to organizations that wish to honor our Veterans in Veteran's Park off of Conover Drive and 161 in Central Grand Prairie. The veteran's of VVA Chapter 1013 purchased one in memory of all our fallen comrades and dedicated it at the annual Memorial Day celebration at the site on Memorial Day, 2010.
A special thank you to the family of Steven Duncan who donated to the Chapter in memory of their brother who passed away in 2009 of complications of wounds suffered in Vietnam.
Also honored with a special cap was VVA Chapter 1013's oldest veteran, Thomas Grozier who served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam.
Tom wore his cap at our recent chapter meeting to the cheers of all who attended!
